Welcome to Nose Bubbles!

I know…the name is slightly peculiar.  Here’s the origin.  When someone initially learns to swim, a common problem is the fear of getting water up their nose.  Most swimmers have experienced the unpleasant burning sensation that rushes through their nasal passages when taking in a nose full of chlorinated water.  Not fun!  The simple solution to this unpleasant experience is to have the swimmer exhale through their nose right before they submerge.  Nose bubbles represent a simple solution to a problem that prevents many individuals from pursuing the pleasures of swimming and enjoying all of the life-changing benefits.  The basic premise of this blog is to present potentially complex swimming concepts through a series of simple steps that are easy to understand and practice.

The Nose Bubbles blog will address practical skills that are specific to the sport of swimming.  We will also examine the implications of attitudes and perspectives that are challenging for athletes at all levels.

We will:

-Provide helpful tips and techniques designed to improve swimming performance.

-Provide links to visual demonstrations of beneficial drills.

-Provide a positive perspective regarding the best way to approach the sport of swimming.

-Provide occasional attitude adjustment opportunities to help you avoid training ruts that result from having a lousy attitude (I personally require attitude adjustments on a fairly consistent basis).

-Instill a passion for the sport of swimming!!!

Welcome to the journey!
