About Beth

I became addicted to chlorine and the sport of swimming at a very young age and have been addicted ever since!  My swimming career included competing at the age group, high school and collegiate level at the University of Pittsburgh.  I continue to set personal goals for my own athletic achievement, but have developed a passion for sharing my love for the sport of swimming with others.  My work as a swim coach and private lesson instructor has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to gain a deep understanding regarding the common challenges faced by swimmers at all levels of development.  Throughout my years of swimming I have been seeking a way to understand the foundational mechanics of the strokes in order to improve my performance.  It has been amazing for me to witness the results that can be achieved by following a simple progression of skills for each stroke.  For a time, I thought that certain aspects of stroking were very abstract and difficult to understand and master.  I can assure you, the concepts are easier to grasp than you think as long as you focus on the basics.
